Process., 8: 249--263. The possibility of increasing the concentration of gibbsite in ferruginous bauxite by means of high-gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) has been studied. The effects of particle size, type of matrix, magnetic field and flow rate were tested. Enrichments of up to 13% were obtained under the experimental conditions used.
