Polystyrene (PS): Properties, Uses, and Types
Polystyrene is a synthetic polymer that is made up of styrene monomers. Styrene is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon that's used in the manufacture of numerous items. It consists of a benzene ring attached to an ethylene group. When chains of styrene link up through the polymerization process, the result is called polystyrene polymer.
